September 10 & 11--Changes

Thursday/Friday:

We are going to interview each other and it will be recorded via Flip Video. One student will interview the other. You will start with:
  • State your name and then spell it.
  • Then say your county of residence.
  • Tell me about your favorite relative (living or dead and excluding parents or siblings).
  • Tell me a little something about why this person is/was special.
  • Tell me about a person outside of your family who had a positive impact in your life.
  • Explain what that contribution was.

These videos will not be shared. They are to help me to get to know you. By the way, the first part (tell me your name and then spell it) is what happens if you are actually interviewed by a broadcast journalist.

Following this, we will continue our discussion of the novels, tying in the Old Testament assignment with Fountain and Tomb. Since I will not be here for eighth period today, students may begin reading the homework assignment, the Koran's version of "The Story of Joseph"--pp. 874-880 in Norton Anthology Parts I & II.

First Period: I forgot to go over the fire drill. Our class leaves the building as a group and all together (I must take roll outside) through the front doors of the school building. The side door tends to get clogged with people coming from the first and the third floors. Remember that there are three sets of front doors and that we don't all have to go through the one set closest to us. Once outside, we stand in the area with the benches and the flags.

Seventh Period: Please remind me that we must engage in discussions on the summer reading--since we didn't even get close to starting one.

There may be a reading quiz on Fahrenheit 451, Fountain and Tomb, and the creation and fall stories, "The First Murder," and the Koran's "Story of Joseph" on Monday/Tuesday.
